MONITOR CONNECTION TO NETWORK HOSTS
Ping Monitor is an automatic tool for tracking connection with hosts, located in the local network and Internet. It detects connection status by sending regular pings and analyzing responses. If pings are failed defined number of times in a row, application detects and reports a connection outage.
Ping Monitor can work in 24/7 mode to track the connection state and calculate connection statistics, which is reported on the main screen. Displayed parameters include monitoring time, uptime percentage, total number of detected outages and percent of passed pings. This information can be used to evaluate the quality and stability of the connection.
In addition to monitoring features, Ping Monitor offers an extended notifications and reporting. You can configure the application to report connection lost, restore events and ping statistics as messages in a System Tray area or to send correspondent notifications by e-mail.
If required, you can extend functionality of the application and setup custom event handlers for execution on connection lost and restore events. Any command or executable file with optional command-line parameters can be defined as the event handler. Also it's possible to activate special terminate actions when connection is lost during defined period of time. It allows you to make shutdown, reboot, hibernate and logoff operations on computer where Ping Monitor is launched.

Ping Monitor is a new name of the freeware product line from EMCO, known before as noPing Inspector.
Ping Monitor is a free tool that can be used for automatic 24/7 connection monitoring to network hosts by sending pings with regular intervals and analyzing replies. It is able to automatically detect connection outages and restores and execute various actions on these events, including e-mail (and SMS through Email-to-SMS services) notifications and launching configured commands. The available release of Ping Monitor contains all features of noPing Inspector and is recommended to replace of any old installation.
"Ping Monitor is successor of noPing Inspector tool. To emphasize this and simplify migration we even kept releases numbering. The new name for this tool was suggested by Malcolm Bauer, a system administrator and old supporter of our host monitoring product. We think that the new name better describes the current functionality and is fully adjusted with our plans for future improvements", said Thorarin Oskarsson, CEO at EMCO Software.
