FIREFOX ADDON SEEKSPEAK
Just install and start searching. You will see other people's searches, and they'll see yours. If you see a search that looks interesting, just click to start a conversation with the person who searched for that topic.
Search normally in a search engine or the Firefox search box. SeekSpeak works with most major search sites, like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Wikipedia, eBay, etc.
You can also:
- make groups with your friends or people who share common interests and see their searches.
- see the searches of people who are on the same web site as you.
- see the searches of people who are on the same network as you.
If you don't want people to see your searches, click the Options link and select "Hide my searches".
To test SeekSpeak by yourself, you can open up two instances of Firefox and pretend to be two different users.
Note: SeekSpeak requires that javascript be enabled.
What is new in 1.1.20090202.1 software version? - - added alert feature that shows a small SeekSpeak icon if a related search occurs when the sidebar is closed
- mousing over the icon will show a list of the related searches
- clicking one of the searches will open the sidebar along with a chat window for the selected topic
- added SeekSpeak toolbar button to toggle sidebar on & off
- changed to use Firefox preferences instead of globalStorage since globalStorage is cleared when cookies are cleared. What is expected in the future?
